In 1934, a member of the Lodge received permission to paint a portrait of the 84 year old Duke of Connaught, who was the 7th child of Queen Victoria.

The Duke had his country residence in Bagshot and at the time he was the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England. He was an active member of the local community and was at one time president of the Bagshot Cricket Club.

Although there is no evidence of the Duke attending this very local lodge, it is hoped he took interest in the goings on at the end of his garden!

The portrait remains a treasured possession of Bagshot Lodge today.
